680 PointsGoKart.java increment exercise
This exercise asks to create a while loop in the class GoKart.java. I thought "while loop" was used in objects since it is a conditional command instead of a storing functions for a later use.
public class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_ENERGY_BARS = 8;
private String mColor;
private int mBarsCount;
public GoKart(String color) {
mColor = color;
mBarsCount = 0;
}
public String getColor() {
return mColor;
}
public boolean Charge(){
boolean isFullyCharged = false;
if(!isFullyCharged()){
mBarsCount++;
isFullyCharged = true;
}
}
}
public void charge() {
mBarsCount = MAX_ENERGY_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return mBarsCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return mBarsCount == MAX_ENERGY_BARS;
}
}

8,987 PointsHere is your code currently:
public boolean Charge(){
boolean isFullyCharged = false;
if(!isFullyCharged()){
mBarsCount++;
isFullyCharged = true;
}
}
This only checks ONCE if the go-kart is fully charged. We want to check many times and stop charging only if the battery IS fully charged.
A while loop would continuously check if the go-kart is fully charged. If the battery's not fully charged, it'll add one bar of energy to the battery and then test the battery again. THIS is the functionality you want and THIS is why we use a while loop to check if the battery is charged instead of an if statement.
On top of that, charge() shouldn't return a boolean value. It should be void of any return statement.
