git commit command problem

I have already a README file and I have to firstly add it to the repository then and the I have to commit it. the add comand works fine I just git add README.md but commit comand doesn't work i wrote on command line git commit -a -r "message here"

you have changed the command for message to -r, the correct command is -m

Hi Gaetano,

You did not write the correct command, you must write :

git commit -m "First commit"
