Hello,
Upon creating a new giflib project, I get a sync error
Could not determine java version from '9.0.1'.

45,428 PointsI had the same problem in the beginning with the sync failing. Make sure you go to the website to look at the most recent dependency compile command. The syntax has drastically changed since the time of this writing. For example the current syntax as of today looks like this:
compile group: 'org.springframework', name: 'spring-webmvc', version: '5.0.6.RELEASE'
