Getting two errors in my html validation. What is wrong w ending >

Here is the code: <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Changa+One|Open+Sans:400italic,700italic,400,700,800' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

Here is the error: Line 7, Column 142: Bad value http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Changa+One|Open+Sans:400italic,700italic,400,700,800 for attribute href on element link: Illegal character in query: not a URL code point. …ne|Open+Sans:400italic,700italic,400,700,800' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

The same happened to me and I couldn't find out what was wrong. I just copied and pasted the line from google fonts and no matter how many times i did it it still said the same as yours. I have since done a similar task on another tutorial and it was fine

It's an issue with Google Fonts URLs using the pipe character (|). If you replace it with %7C, it should validate properly.

@import url( http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Changa+One%7COpen+Sans:400italic,700italic,400,700,800);

Thank you, Ryan. Weird that this tutorial asks us to do something that can't work. I've wasted a lot of time on this.

This does not work for me! That does:

<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Changa+One%7COpen+Sans:400italic,700italic,400,700,800' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

PS: I didn't figure out how @import works
