I've entered this: SELECT SUBSTR(first_name,1,1)||" "||last_name AS "initial" FROM customers; Getting exact result as expected yet still says its wrong not allowing me past.

I don't think you need to concatenate anything here. I tried this and it passed:
SELECT SUBSTR(first_name, 1, 1) AS initial, last_name FROM customers;
