4,606 PointsGetting compiler error : String Fuellevel = intent.getStringExtra("fuelLevel");
Instructions: in the class: FlightActivity, we want to get the value that we put in the Intent. Start by declaring an Intent variable and getting the Intent used to start this Activity.
Compiler shows:
FlightActivity.java:14: error: cannot find symbol String Fuellevel = intent.getStringExtra("fuelLevel"); ^ symbol: method getStringExtra(String) location: variable intent of type Intent 1 error
I'm not sure what to do to fix this, please help.
import android.os.Bundle;
public class FlightActivity extends Activity {
public int mFuelLevel = 0;
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_flight);
// Add your code below!
Intent intent = getIntent();
String Fuellevel = intent.getStringExtra("fuelLevel");
}
}

The key in this challenge "FUEL_LEVEL", not "fuelLevel". You're also using the "getStringExtra()" method on the Intent, when you need to get an int, not a string, and you need to pass in the optional second argument for a default of -1.
Intent intent = getIntent();
mFuelLevel = intent.getIntExtra("FUEL_LEVEL", -1);
Hope that helps!
