Getting an error?

symbol: method dispense()
location: variable dispenser of type PezDispenser
3 errors

This is my code

  public static void main(String[] args) {
        // Your amazing code goes here...
      System.out.println("We are making a new Pez Dispenser.");
      PezDispenser dispenser = new PezDispenser("Yoda");
      System.out.printf("The dispenser character is %s\n", dispenser.getCharacterName());
      if (dispenser.isEmpty()) {
       System.out.println("It is currently empty");
      }
      System.out.println("Loading...");
      dispenser.load();
      if (!dispenser.isEmpty()) {
        System.out.println("It is no longer empty");
      }
     while (dispenser.dispense()) {
      System.out.println("Chomp!");
     }
      if (dispenser.isEmpty()) {
        System.out.println("Ate all the PEZ");
      }
    }
}

Hi Andrew! What errors are you getting? Can you post your code from your PezDispenser.java file?

--java

public class GoKart { public static final int MAX_ENERGY_BARS = 8; private String mColor; private int mBarsCount;

public GoKart(String color) { mColor = color; mBarsCount = 0; }

public String getColor() { return mColor; }

public void charge() { mBarsCount = MAX_ENERGY_BARS; }

public boolean isBatteryEmpty() { return mBarsCount == 0; }

public boolean isFullyCharged() { while (!isFullyCharged()) { mBarsCount++; } }

}

I believe you posted the wrong code. That seems to be a GoKart class.

Looks like you defined your dispense() method inside your isEmpty() method. It should look like this:

  public boolean isEmpty () {
    return mPezCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean dispense () {
  boolean wasDispensed = false;
    if (!isEmpty()) {
      mPezCount--;
      wasDispensed = true;
    }
    return wasDispensed;
  }

Also, for future reference, you can format your code by adding three backticks before and after your block of code:

```
//Your code here
```

There's also a video to the right side under "Tips for asking questions" and a Markdown Cheatsheet under the textbox that may help with formatting.

  if (dispenser.isEmpty()) {
   System.out.println("It is currently empty");

  System.out.println("Loading...");
  dispenser.load();

}

Do you have another file in your workspace called PezDispenser.java?

yep, I just realized I didn't close that curly brace to close the method. Thanks
