full stack foundations vs front end track?

Hey there,

I am currently studying for a degree in E-commerce. In my degree we went over the basics of html/css as well as PHP and JS. But the courses we take are by far not enough to make you ready to code.

My goal is to obtain a broad skillset that will allow me to choose a career later (such as mobile app dev, web dev, front-end, digital marketing, etc.) and not constrict me to a certain field. Would you recommend starting with the front-end track or starting with the full stack foundations.

Hey Leon,

If you want to keep your options opened, full stack foundations will be your best bet as it focuses on both the front end and the back end of software development while front-end focuses mostly on building user facing front-end products. I hope that helps.

Hi elomaye,

thank you for the quick answer. I guess that seals the deal. If I wanted to do both, would you also recommend starting with the full stack foundations and then moving on to front-end. Treehouse recommends starting with the front-end path. But I feel like I am starting from a different point, as I am already familar with some languages and programming concepts.
