35,526 PointsFor what developmental task is the "chromium os" and the "chrome os" good?
They are relatively new OSes and they have become quite popular too... I just wanted to know if I can use them for any hardcore programming and web developmental purposes... So can anyone tell me the pros and cons??

28,149 PointsWell, for the most part, they're not good - simply because most of the software we need isn't designed to be compatible with the chrome operating system. We have a chromebook, and while it's a good general use computer, it doesn't allow me to code on it unless I use a browser based IDE like Cloud9.
However, one day I'd like to buy a newer chromebook, wipe chrome off and install some version on Linux and give that a go - maybe one day.
