When I run my index.html my font isn't passing Validator because of the | mark within my font URL. Below is the error message, and below that is my coding:
Error: Bad value https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Changa+One|Open+Sans for attribute href on element link: Illegal character in query: | is not allowed. From line 7, column 5; to line 7, column 95 css">ā© <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Changa+One|Open+Sans" rel="stylesheet">ā© <
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Changa+One|Open+Sans" rel="stylesheet">
Please assist. Thanks!

That's a very common error, and honestly it means absolutely nothing. Just ignore it. You can read more about this in an answer I provided a while ago to the same question in this post.

Thanks for the quick and detailed response. I read the post you linked and, coincidentally, I had the same heading "error" as well but came to the same conclusion you presented (that it's not a real error).
