how do I prevent the navigation menu to go down a line under the logo when the screen edge gets smaller?

I understand that floats work as as inline-block elements, and the instructor showed us how to fix this problem by using float:initial in this video. I am using a mobile first approach as the initial layout. My problem starts after the first break point of using media queries (min-with: 769px) and I want to keep the menu in a line after. any help?

I added the floats left to the a logo and navigation menu, and added the clearfix and is working find.
