Treehouse Moderator 68,441 PointsYour first solution is very close. The float
command returns a new value which needs to be saved somewhere.
def add(x,y):
x = float(x)
y = float(y)
return x+y
# or better yet, don't overwrite the input values:
def add(x,y):
fx = float(x)
fy = float(y)
return fx+fy
