Some things have actually changed since this video was made. If you are not seeing the featured image option in your customer data type, hover over CPT UI on the left, and then click on "Add/Edit post types". Then select the item that you want the Featured image option on from the drop down at the top. Once you have it selected, scroll down the options and find "Supports". There will be a number of options here...check the box next to "Featured Image" and then save. You should now have the option to set the featured image in your posts.

This was helpful. It would be more helpful if TreeHouse re-did this WordPress Theme Tutorial and made it up to date. It is super annoying to follow through on it only to encounter frustration when the steps followed in the video do not result in an expected outcome. One would expect that Treehouse would provide up-to-date content.
