Python Python Basics (2015) Logic in Python Try and Except

Failing to pass the TRY block challenge

Can someone assist me. I have managed to go past stage 1 and 2 of the TRY and EXCEPT challenge, but the 3rd and last stage has tripped me. What is woring with my code below:

def add(num1, num2): try: except ValueError return None else: return(float(num1) + float(num2))

trial.py
def add(num1, num2):
  try:
    except ValueError
    return None
   else:
      return(float(num1) + float(num2))

Use a variable to store the sum of the two numbers, call it total or anything you want. The addition needs to be done in the try block. The except needs to be at the same indentation level as try. You also need a colon after ValueError. Then in the else block return the total.

Hi Kourosh, Thank you very much stressed all day long with indentation. Thank you.
