I'm sorry for being frustrated but there is a pattern that I've started to notice in where X being taught and Y is being quizzed, why? Why is it that in a lot of cases Treehouse is quizzing things that haven't been directly taught but rather have been stuffed in the teachers notes.
I might be stupid though...

11,546 PointsI think its a way to get you to stretch a little into self-learning. I know I've googled a quiz question and coding challenge statement or two. As you mention the teacher's notes are often worth bookmarking for later.
While I agree it can be frustrating, it's also quite common in teaching (reminds me of Uni for instance) to teach a concept then test on applications of that concept that require translating the concept into a different context.
Don't worry, it's not just you, but I suspect it is intentional.
