Why is the method returning 1 instead of 0 for the hand "sreclhak" and tile 'n'?
public class ScrabblePlayer {
private String mHand;
private int numberOfTiles=0;
public ScrabblePlayer() {
mHand = "";
}
public String getHand() {
return mHand;
}
public void addTile(char tile) {
// Adds the tile to the hand of the player
mHand += tile;
}
public boolean hasTile(char tile) {
return mHand.indexOf(tile) > -1;
}
public int getTileCount(char tile){
for(char letter: mHand.toCharArray()){
if (tile==letter){
numberOfTiles+=1;
}
}
return numberOfTiles;
}
}

Treehouse TeacherHonestly? I don't really know. What I can tell you is if I move the original declaration of your numberOfTiles
variable inside the function, it passes. Take a look:
public int getTileCount(char tile){
int numberOfTiles = 0;
for(char letter: mHand.toCharArray()){
if (tile==letter){
numberOfTiles+=1;
}
}
return numberOfTiles;
}
There's no other code I see that would change that value. Maybe it's a quirk of the challenge? But I hope this helps!
