In your code you have an ; after the condition in your if remove that and because your if will now contain more than 1 statement add curly braces.

int numberOfPeople = 3;
if (numberOfPeople < 4){
   console.printf("Your table is ready");
   System.exit(0); //this is how to say system exit
}
