10,781 PointsException code not running!
Hey everyone.
My code isn't running and it tells me that "I must make sure there is a Try block around kart.drive ." I Keep referencing back to my workspace where we coded the Pez example but I can't see the difference in what we did there and my code that's run run here. The try method seems to be the same.
Any who can help, please? :)
class Example {
public static void main(String[] args) {
GoKart kart = new GoKart("purple");
if (kart.isBatteryEmpty()) {
System.out.println("The battery is empty");
}
try { kart.drive(25);
System.out.println("Not gonna happen");
}
catch (IllegalArgumentException iae) {
System.out.println("Thats impossible");
}
}
}
class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
private int barCount;
private String color;
private int lapsDriven;
public GoKart(String color) {
this.color = color;
}
public String getColor() {
return color;
}
public void charge() {
barCount = MAX_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return barCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return MAX_BARS == barCount;
}
public void drive() {
drive(1);
}
public void drive(int laps) {
if (laps > barCount) {
throw new IllegalArgumentException("Not enough battery remains");
}
lapsDriven += laps;
barCount -= laps;
}
}

Java Web Development Techdegree Graduate 21,083 PointsYou've changed the parameter value passed to the drive() method from 42 to 25. Because of that no exception is thrown when the code runs and it doesn't pass the test. Change it back to 42. Don't forget to print the exception message using the exception's getMessage() method.
