Everyone's way of learning?

I wanted to know how everyone else was learning the content off of treehouse? Right now, I am only currently following along to the videos and opening workspace as needed. But I don't feel like I am retaining as much as I should. Of course, I understand it's good to undergoe your own projects and whatnot to implement the material. But I am kind of everywhere with learning lol. Should I just go straight through the track I am on, and then possibly start new projects afterwards? Just wondering what everyone else's routine is so far.

If you're new to programming I would suggest that you take it slow. Everything you learn in the beginning is the fundamentals. Like in any other field the fundamentals are a must to understand to move to the next skill step.

Whenever you finish a course here you should try to use the knowledge you have acquired. You don't have to create anything fancy or do any big projects. Just build a small application/website based on your previous knowledge combined with your newly acquired knowledge.

Try to not rush the courses in hope that you will become a great developer faster doing that. Apply the knowledge, that way you retain it more.

A tip before starting any course is to spend a few minutes thinking about why you're taking that course over any of the other courses on Treehouse. This way you will "cheat" your brain to become more motivated to retain the skills that you learn in the course.

Thank you so much about your insight into learning. I shall do this. Although I've finished 2 of the courses so far, I'm taking my time to spend some time in jsfiddle and play around with the coding and styling I've learned so far. Appreciate the 2 cents very much!
