Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Even or Odd Loop

even.py

It says wrong number of prints

even.py
import random
def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
    # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
    return not num % 2
start = 5
while start == True:
    num = random.randint(1, 99)
    a = even_odd(num)
    if a:
        print("{} is odd".format(num))
    else:

There are two places you are going wrong.

  1. The while loop is not running. Change the condition to while start !=0. This will give the right number of prints, but:
  2. You are outputting them the wrong way around, i.e it would say 66 is odd. The conditions need to switched around.
while start != 0:
    num = random.randint(1, 99)
    if even_odd(num):
        print("{} is even".format(num))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(num))
    start = start - 1
