2,769 PointsError with not error
I'm not sure why there is an error in the challenge compiler while there is not an error in my play ground. Thank you.
class Point {
var x: Int
var y: Int
init(x: Int, y: Int) {
self.x = x
self.y = y
}
}
class Machine {
var location: Point
init() {
self.location = Point(x: 0, y: 0)
}
func move(_ direction: String) {
print("Do nothing! I'm a machine!")
}
}
// Enter your code below
class Robot: Machine {
var direction: String
init(direction: String) {
self.direction = direction
// self.location = Point(x: 0, y: 0)
}
override func move(_ direction: String) {
switch direction {
case "Up": location.y += 1
case "Down": location.y -= 1
case "Left": location.x -= 1
case "Right": location.x += 1
default:
break
}
}
}

Treehouse TeacherHi there! You have a little extra code which isn't creating an error but is simply not needed. The init will be run from the Machine class. and the direction will be set upon creating an instance of Robot and sent in at the time of creation. So if I simply remove:
var direction: String
init(direction: String) {
self.direction = direction
// self.location = Point(x: 0, y: 0)
}
...your code passes with flying colors!
Good job on not getting hung up on theswitch
statement!
Happy coding!
