I get this error:
"Error: Could not access the Package Manager. Is the system running?"
When I click the Run App button, the green play icon and the emulator does not come up. I can however run the emulator from the AVD manager but that means having to run the emulator from complete scratch again

5,798 PointsHi Darren I had this problem for a while. Tried a few things and it worked for a bit but was still temperemental so do yourself a favour and go get genymotions emulator. Works awesome and 1000 times quicker. Otherwise I think it means you already have an app running on the emulator, try closing down the running app in the app console window. I sometimes had to restart android studio occasionally as well. Good luck.

1,071 PointsThanks for the reply Glen. A few moments after posting that question I decided to go ahead and get Genymotion because a few other issues with the built in emulator started arising. Best decision I've made! Genymotion is so much better. I highly recommend using Genymotion to anybody reading this, it solved every single problem I had with the built in emulator and works really really fast.
