and then called console.printf
?
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
if(firstExample.equals("secondExample")) {
console.printf("first is equal to second");
}
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";

23,733 PointssecondExample shouldn't be in quotes and the if statement should be at the very bottom:
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
if(firstExample.equals(secondExample)) {
console.printf("first is equal to second");
}

I've just looked through your comment and I am wondering why the secondExample is not in quotes, because the video shows ("dork") in quotes, hence why i did the same. Please explain if you know why. It will be helpful!

23,733 PointsBecause you don't want to compare the name of the variables. You want to compare the strings that the variables are holding, and to get to those strings you need to use the variable names without quotes.
