I think you're slightly making this more complicated than it needs to be, all that we need to do is create a new drive method that does not take any parameters, and then call the other drive method inside our method so that one lap is driven if the user does not specify an amount.
Your method should look something like
public void drive() {
drive(1)
}
If you replace that with your the drive method you created you should have no trouble.
Right now what your drive method is doing is having your single kart object named race drive 8 laps, we want to expose this method to other karts that might be created.
