Does anyone use Code Blocks (Add-on of Google Documents)? I have an issue

I am using Code Blocks (https://github.com/alexwforsythe/code-blocks) to highlight the syntax of the code, and store my code on Google Documents.

However, sometimes it works perfectly, but sometimes it just doesn't work with some codes. Even though I made the code the plain text before I try to highlight them. It only says "can't insert here" without any clues.

Does anyone know how to fix the issue? By the way, I just want to have my code printable for further review with the syntax highlight. Anyone knows any efficient ways?
