Document Setup for the Scene and HUD

Hi, when I'm using photoshop, I can't make the stuff that he is making in the videos. The gridlines stop me from making the craters. It's like the grid just wants me to trace the squares. Does anyone know how to turn off this function?

it's been a very long time since I used any version of PhotoShop, but it seems almost like there was a "snap to grid" option that toggled similar things, maybe it could be related? Just tossing this out since you have no other comments or answers.
