23,259 PointsAbsolutely not! It's just a handy tool TH provides you with to follow along with the projects if your aren't savvy with other 3rd party code editors. It's really similar to Sublime Text in my opinion (which is what I use). I encourage you to check both out and see which you are most comfortable with, hope this helps!

10,288 PointsDerick is right, you should get use to Sublime Text its a cool and easy to use text editor with cool coloring that help you understand your code better and also help you see where you've made a mistake. And that is important when youre coding, sometimes its really hard to point out a mistake in a big chunk of code and sublime text helps that.

3,666 PointsI prefer to use any of the text editor (Atom/Visual Studio Code) or IDE (WebStorm/Visual Studio) since that will help me master them in return. Obviously you will not be using workspaces to code a real life project in due course.

3,322 PointsNo - but workspace will save your work and allows you to interact with the problems a little better. But like the others have said, you can use what you like. I personally like the workspace because it helps me keep track and organize what I'm doing

Courses Plus Student 166 PointsYou dont have to. It's just to write down your code. (I use Sublime Text 2 ).
