14,583 PointsDNS address could not be found
I can not get this to work. I have my domain name registered through Godaddy, and am using dreamhost for hosting. I followed the instructions in the video and changed name servers to the dreamhost ones. I waited 48 hours and it still wouldn't work, when I try to access the page I get the error 'DNS address could not be found.' I contacted godaddy, and they told me to set name servers back to default and change the 'A' value to the IP address supplied by dreamhost, and it still doesn't work. Anyone know how to get this to work? And should I really be changing the A value rather than the name servers?

14,583 PointsOh I already got it working. See my post above. Not sure why switching the name severs didn't work, but just switching the 'A' value for the IP on godaddy fixed it for me. Thanks for the tip though.

14,583 PointsOkay, so I first contacted godaddy and they told me to change the name servers back to default and just change the 'A' value to the ip that dreamhost provided. After that it still didn't work for me, so I contacted dreamhost and found out it was working for them, I just had to wait a few hours for it to propagate I guess. Works now. I don't understand why the name servers change like shown in the video didn't work, I had to just switch the IP. I'll have to read more into DNS.

6,552 PointsJustin, I was having this exact same issue- I used GoDaddy/Dreamhost as well. Thank you SO much for sharing your solution!

3,125 PointsI agree with Nijesh. You will need to look at the domain address on godaddy and add them to dreamhost

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 32,425 PointsHi Justin,
A few months ago I registered a domain name with Namecheap (my site is hosted by GIthub) . I bring this up because I had a similar issue. From what I can remember, my CNAME was not set up properly. Apologies for not getting more specific, but my phone just died and I need my phone (2-part authentication to login...lol) to look at my records. Anyhow, I'm guessing that it's just a simple fix that GoDaddy should be able to help you with (as Dee and Nijesh have suggested above). With regards to my issue, when I contacted Namecheap they helped me fix the minor errors that I had in my url(s).
Hope that helps.
If you're still stuck tomorrow let me know and I'll check back when my phone is charged.
Good luck!

18,232 PointsSorry about that, it will be an issue of GoDaddy or DreamHost. I think you should try contacting both of them. I'm sure they are gonna help you.
