2,888 PointsDesign software for app developing?
Hi I've looked everywhere online for a straight answer to this but to no avail.
What design softwares do developers use to create graphics, logos, layouts and animations to import into their iOS/Android apps?
PS: People seem to argue over whether to use Photoshop, Illustrator, After effects, Motion 5, iDraw or Pixelmator.

38,442 PointsI would say go with Illustrator over Photoshop. Illustrator lets you create vector images, which gives you the freedom to scale your design(s) to any size, without worrying about distortion. Now if you're just using software to conceptualize a layout, then it comes down to personal preference. However, if your software is used to design characters or logos, you want to go with a vector based program. Any vector program could do the job, but Illustrator is usually the most intuitive.

9,411 PointsHello Gary Leong, I work in a company that designs and develops apps for iOS and android (I'm a developer), and most of our designers use illustrator, but it really is personal preference. I use sketch as its so easy to pickup for someone who's never used design software. Photoshop and illustrator were very daunting for me as theres so much they can do, but its personal preference i guess!
