Design for Android

Hi can anyone refer me to good resources regarding design for android apps? I need to design then hand over to developers.

You may want to take a look at a couple of things.

Google Plus has a ton of Official Android Developers talking about design. Definitely join and find them. A few of them are +Nick Butcher, +Adam Koch, +Roman Nurik

You can find them by name in this series that they have. Watch them. They're awesome.

A new android design in action video comes out like every week or something.

Go to developer.android.com (or d.android.com)

click "Design" at the top. This gives you everything you need to know when it comes to Android. It's a lot to read, but pretty interesting/informative. Direct link: http://developer.android.com/design/index.html

Also, on Google Plus join the Android Design Community. There is a public one (that's mostly garbled with spam... but a group of designers made a private one, but anyone can join) It's awesome to have a group of professional designers at your disposal.

Make sure you're signed in and request an invite to the group. They will let anyone in, but anyone posting spam will be removed.

@Jacob, you definitely want to read through the Android Design Guidelines that Ernest mentioned above. Then you can also get ideas from other great designs, of course. I like this Android Niceties site about great Android designs.

I found Taylor Ling's site to be pretty useful as well. There's quite a few useful tips on UI & UX design. http://androiduiux.com/ http://androiduiux.com/2012/09/04/android-uiux-tips-2/ We should use this page as a dumping ground for great android design tip sites (unless there already is one on Treehouse?)
