Cyberduck doesn't open. I have a mac, and it tells me "not permitted" when I try to unzip it!

Does anyone know of a good free FTP Software I can use instead? I have a mac 10.6.8, and it seems like every software requires 10.7 or higher :(

if you right click on the icon and then select open (instead of double clicking it), it might work, OS X has some restrictions on downloading apps that are not in the app store to protect against viruses

I finally downloaded cyberduck by downloading an old version, but now when I try to "open connection" it tells me my connection failed because it was refused. Can someone explain what is happening?

Hi Amanda, I've uploaded a couple of websites with CyberDuck myself and had a couple of issues that needed to be solved so I get where your coming from. "Not Permitted" looks like it means that your security settings do not allow you to open applications downloaded from online. To fix this go to your ( System Preferences - > Security & Privacy -> Click The Lock In Bottom Left - > Enter Password - > Allow Apps Downloaded From - > Click "Anywhere" ) Then unzip the file and launch! Yes this is correct, but I would not recommend changing your settings, it is asking for a security breach, which is why I recommended the right-click approach I posted earlier, because it allows you to choose which applications can or can't be downloaded.

Thanks for adding Leyton Parker . You can also do the same thing you were describing in your system preferences for a single app but your description seems a lot simpler! Thanks!
