Java Java Objects (Retired) Meet Objects Constructors

Creating new objects code challenge getColor getter not called.

Step 2 of this code challenge wants me to get the color of the new object using System.out.printf and the getColor method. The problem is I'm not sure where getColor is supposed to be called or even called from. Here's my code.

public class Example {

public static void main(String[] args) {
    System.out.println("We are going to create a GoKart");
    GoKart kart = new GoKart("red");
    System.out.printf("red");//"red" is a placeholder for now.
}

}

Where should getColor be called and be called from?

It should be called from the new instance of GoKart you created named kart. kart.getColor(). Remember System.out.printf is for formatting.

System.out.printf("the kart color is %s.", kart.getColor());
