Creating a printf function

console.printf("%s",firstName); that is what i did and I keep getting a message saying that I did something wrong

String firstName = "Jonathan"; console.printf("%s", firstName);

Can you share the error the please? That looks good as long as you have declared the firstName variable before using it.

Oh shoot, sorry I didn't see it sooner jonathanfantroy2 . The instructions require you to specifically type something. Can you read them again:

Call the print function on the console object and make it print out "<YOUR NAME> can code in Java!"
