28,558 PointsYou can't assign a String
(which is what answerToLife
holds) directly to an int
variable, you have to convert it to an int
first. One way of doing that is to use the Integer.parseInt
method that was demonstrated in the previous lecture.
That method takes a String
as an argument (the value you put into the parenthesis) and returns an int
version of the String
.
Also the int
variable you create has to be named answer
, not age
. The challenges are very strict about variable names having to match whatever the task specifies.
Like this:
String answerToLife = "42";
int answer = Integer.parseInt(answerToLife);
