Java Java Objects Creating the MVP Scrabble Tiles

Correct the existing hasTile method to return true if the tile is in the tiles field, and false if it isn't.

You can solve this a few ways, however, I'd like you to practice returning the result of the expression that uses the index of a char in a String.

The challenge wants you to return a single expression. This should be easy enough to accomplish with what you have already:

return tiles.indexOf(tile) !=-1;

and eliminate the variable and if block does the same thing.

The error message gives you a clue: "Bummer: While you could definitely solve this using an if statement, try returning the result of the expression."

You are probably closer than you think. You've actually solved it on just one line, but you have added a good bit of extra code around it that isn't needed. Take a close look at your work and see if you can eliminate the "if" and meet the objective.

Bonus hint: you also won't need to create any variables.
