4,751 PointsHey William.
The beginning and end of the <a> tag should go on the outside of the <li> tag like this
<a href="index.html"><li>portfolio</li></a>
Hope this helps and please make this a best answer.

27,419 PointsThe link tags shouldn't be on the outside but the inside. This is not valid html.

27,419 PointsHi William,
The link names need to be capitalised 'Portfolio', not 'portfolio':
<header>
<a href="index.html">
<h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
<h2>Designer</h2>
</a>
<nav>
<ul>
<li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
<li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
<li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>
</header>

Courses Plus Student 16,618 PointsThe directions specify "Portfolio" not "portfolio". Try initial Cap, it worked for me. Otherwise, I used identical html.
