confused

I seem to have everything in order and it still says I need to add img-01.jpg when clearly I have it there

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section>
      <ul>
        <li>
          <a href="img/numbers-01.jpg">
            <img src="img/numbers-01.jpg">
          </a>
        </li>
        <li>
         <a href="img/numbers-02.jpg">
          <img src="img/numbers-02.jpg">
          </a>
        </li>
        <li>
          <a href="img/numbers-06.jpg">
            <img src="img/numbers-06.jpg">
          </a>
        </li>
      </ul>

    </section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Hi! Is it img-01.jpg, or numbers-01.jpg? Are they in the right directory?

Hi Anthony,

There is a key piece of information in the challenge instructions:

Leave the alt attributes blank, and don’t add any captions or links. Just the images!

It's tempting to want to do things similar to what was done in the videos, like wrapping your images in anchor tags, but the challenges are usually very explicit in what they are asking you to do. If you go outside of that, then you will likely encounter errors, even if the code you wrote is perfectly valid.

Good luck.

It was the anchor tags that was giving me the error, thank you so much I was stuck on this for hours lol
