4,507 PointsComplier Problem With Swift Recap Part 2
I have put this code into a playground with out any errors but when I put it into the code challenge it says that it couldn't be compiled. I looked at the editor but nothing shows up. Can any one explain this?
class Point {
var x: Int
var y: Int
init(x: Int, y: Int){
self.x = x
self.y = y
}
}
class Machine {
var location: Point
init() {
self.location = Point(x: 0, y: 0)
}
func move(direction: String) {
print("Do nothing! Im a machine!")
}
}
class Robot: Machine {
init(x: Int, y: Int) {
}
override func move(direction: String) {
switch direction {
case "Up":
self.location.y += 1
case "Down":
self.location.y -= 1
case "Left":
self.location.x -= 1
case "Right":
self.location.x += 1
default:
break
}
}
}

28,883 PointsTry getting rid of the init method in Robot. Machine does all the initialization of the properties you need, and Robot doesn't change anything about how those properties are initialized, so the init method is unneeded.

4,507 PointsThank you! I forgot that the init wasn't needed in this situation
