Color Theory Help

I have a couple of questions :

1.) Do different shades of grey count in design as part of the main group of colors of a website OR do grey colors not count since they are neural ? like for example if I went on a color wheel and picked out a triad design of 3 colors, would it effect the flow of my design if I added 2 slightly different shades of grey ( in addition to the 3 triad colors) ?

2.) Would it still flow as it should? Or does my triad design have to include grey ... meaning in order for it to flow I cant just add these grey neural colors or it will ruin the flow in the design and look odd?

We all know that there are many shades of grey, and whether or not each shade should count against your main colors can be a grey area. All kidding aside, it all depends on the design. If there are textures involved or not. If we are talking about your side you have linked to, I think that the overall pallet is good. There are some minor tweaks that I would suggest making. Your top link needs to have bolder text. The "To Top" tend to get lost a bit. For your #content-main, I would also suggest having some sort of border or maybe add a box-shadow to help with the color transition. You just have a border on the top and bottom and not on the sides...it just sort of stops. Again, these are all my suggestions and design is always changing and in the eye of the beholder.
