Python Python Basics (2015) Number Game App Squared

Code works perfectly in the workspace, but not in the test based on TypeError. Not sure how to fix

Everything works perfectly in the workspace but gives a TypeError: can't multiply sequence by an str in the test. I am multiplying a sequency (whatever their input is) by it's length which should be an int so I'm puzzled

squared.py
# EXAMPLES
# squared(5) would return 25
# squared("2") would return 4
# squared("tim") would return "timtimtim"
def squared(num):
    try:
        int(num)
        return num * num
    except ValueError:
        return num * num_length

Never mind, It has been solved:

def squared(num): try: int(num) return int(num) ** 2 except ValueError: return num * len(num)

Thought the error was in the second segment instead of the first
