I am trying to set the character type for the treehouse quiz. I am writing:
<head>
<meta charset = "utf-8">
</head>
I keep getting an error. Does anyone know why?

42,016 Pointslooks like the engine didnt like the way you used spaces before and after the equals sign. I passed with
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
</head>
it shouldnt matter, but the challenge engine can be very picky sometimes. In HTML and CSS, most people dont put a space before and after the equals sign like you see in other languages.

There's a submit feedback button at the end of every code challenge where you can tell the Treehouse team about any issues you ran into when working on a code challenge. You can also email help@teamtreehouse.com to let them know about any issues you have with a code challenge.

42,016 Pointsyou must format html using markdown if you want it to show up in the forum. Ive formatted your code for you so it will show up. You can watch the tips for asking questions video on the right side of the page for an explanation of formatting code using markdown. There is also a markdown cheatsheet in the bottom right corner of the text box.
