HTML How to Make a Website Beginning HTML and CSS Write a CSS Selector and Property

Challenge Task 2 of 3: "Now, write CSS that will select the h1." Did I miss the presentation of "select"?

Is this common for tutorials to request a task without any intro to that step? I'm sure the answer is simple, but I'd like to get a feel for what I can expect from other tutorials.

Kevin,

You may have misunderstood the way the instruction was presented to you. It's asking you to use the h1 selector in the CSS file. You can reference any HTML tag in your code by simply typing it as you would your classes and IDs. Below is an example using the <header> tag:

header {
    float: left;
    width: 100%;
}

Now instead of using the <header> tag as I've shown you above, use the h1 tag as it is asking you. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your quick response, Shawn. I found that the task was satisfied by re-entering the code from the previous task, so I've moved on.
