13,954 PointsChallenge Task 1 of 1, Build a JavaFX App / Controlling Your View
I can't figure out what I'm missing.
<?import javafx.scene.control.Button?>
<?import javafx.scene.layout.VBox?>
<?import javafx.scene.text.Text?>
<VBox fx:controller="com.example.Controller"
xmlns:fx="http://javafx.com/fxml">
<Text text="Boombox" />
<Button text="Play"/>
</VBox>
package com.example;
import javafx.event.ActionEvent;
public class Controller {
@FXML private Button;
public void handlePlay(ActionEvent event) {
System.out.println("[MUSIC PLAYING] - Take it from me holmes, parents just don't understand");
}
}
package com.example;
import javafx.application.Application;
import javafx.fxml.FXMLLoader;
import javafx.scene.Parent;
import javafx.scene.Scene;
import javafx.stage.Stage;
public class Main extends Application {
@Override
public void start(Stage primaryStage) throws Exception{
Parent root = FXMLLoader.load(getClass().getResource("boombox.fxml"));
primaryStage.setTitle("Boombox");
primaryStage.setScene(new Scene(root, 300, 275));
primaryStage.show();
}
public static void main(String[] args) {
launch(args);
}
}

In your button XML you need to add an onAction property. Let's say in instance, I wanted to attach a button to my Method.
I'd make it look something like
<Button text="Play" onAction="#myMethod" />
Just be sure to use the right variable that Craig wants you to use in the challenge, and you'll wire that method to take place once the button is clicked.
