The code in Main.java is going to throw an IllegalArgumentException when the drive method is called. Catch it and warn the user.
How can I fix this?
public class Main {
public static void main(String[] args) {
GoKart kart = new GoKart("yellow");
int battery = 2;
public void isBatteryEmpty () {
battery = 0;
}
public void drive() {
battery-=;
}
}
if (kart.isBatteryEmpty()) {
throw new IllegalArgumentException("The battery is empty");
}
try {
kart.drive(2);
} catch (IllegalArgumentException iae) {
System.out.printf("%s", iae.getMessage());
}
}
}

The instructions say that Main.java is going to throw an IllegalArgumentException. Therefore, you do not need to throw it yourself like you are doing in your code. You only need to catch it and print the iae.getMessage(). Furthermore, you do not need to create the isBatteryEmpty or drive methods. Those methods are already part of the kart object that is instantiated. Below is working code to guide you:
public class Main {
public static void main(String[] args) {
GoKart kart = new GoKart("yellow");
if (kart.isBatteryEmpty()) {
System.out.println("The battery is empty");
}
try {
kart.drive(2);
} catch(IllegalArgumentException iae) {
System.out.println(iae.getMessage());
}
}
}
