I'm using adobe photoshop 6, CC. When i go through the steps the instructor goes through,
- Opening an image
- Selecting the ellipse tool.
- Creating an ellipse path
- Choosing the directs select tool
- Clicking on the path.
Nothing happens. In the video, some squares show up to outline the path which can be grabbed and moved around. For me, no squares show up and I can't manipulate the size of the ellipse path. How is it different in my version?

2,887 PointsAh if only. No squares appear to be clicked in the first place. When I click on the path, or in it, nothing happens at all. There are no squares for me. Just an ellipse with a marching ants outline and nothing else

17,730 Pointsif you are getting marching ants then are you sure that you are using the elliptical path tool and not the elliptical marque tool? If you have the default tools layout, then the elliptical marque tool would be near the top of the toolbox and the path tool is near the bottom.
