or use double quotes
url("../img/twitter.png");

You are saying to go up one directory ../img/file.png should be img/file.png.

2,705 PointsIn the video, Nick says to do that as the main.css file that the css is in is in the CSS folder, so we need to go back up to the root directory. I'm a newbie having the same issue.

19,287 PointsI AM WRONG! I wasn't paying attention. Yes, the images are being called from the css directory and not the root. My apologies for the confusion.
