11,089 PointsHello Kim -
I am sorry to hear that you are running into trouble with your lesson, that's never any fun! :( I am seeing that you are in the lesson called: Console Foundations. Specifically in the running commands section - if you look on the right hand side of your screen there is a green and white button that says "Launch Console". If you click on that button it will launch "console" and then you will be able to execute the commands you are struggling with. If you want to really get technical and don't want to use the console provided by teamtreehouse - you can follow these instructions to setup your own version of console..http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/virtualbox If you have any others questions or are still confused please let me know!

1,520 PointsThank both of you guys for answering my question. I should've written more details about the situation. Well, I'm using Mac so I don't mind using my own machine(terminal) for this lesson. But I was hoping to try tree house's console. Yes, I had tried to launch "console" and got an error Message saying "Error: We're sorry. We're having trouble getting your computer set up. We are working on it right now. Pleas try again later." So I had tried many different methods that others have suggested on the forum, but I still couldn't launch the console. Thanks again mikes02 and Robert Mckay!

Courses Plus Student 16,968 PointsThese lessons are not referring to the Console in your browser, they are referring to the console on your machine, depending on whether you are on Windows or Apple OS will determine how to access your console.
