For the code challenge I am totally confused, if it's suppost to be e.g. putExtra, getIntExtra. Also I am confused if I need to start a new line- ( under where it says add your code here). I don't think I have set it out right.
import android.os.Bundle;
public class FlightActivity extends Activity {
public int mFuelLevel = -1;
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_flight);
// Add your code below!
Intent intent= getIntent();
Intent= getIntExtra("FUEL_LEVEL", defaultValue -1);
}
}

You're very close with that answer; you clearly understand what's going on!
Just a couple of points. The instance of Intent
that you create should be used to call the getIntExtra()
method on. Do that using dot notation. And once you've done that, assign the value it returns (gets) into the existing mFuelLevel
variable. Don't change the value of that variable before the onCreate
method; leave that as zero.
Your code will end up looking like this - I've just included the bits you need to add; not the rest:
// Add your code below!
Intent intent = getIntent();
mFuelLevel = intent.getIntExtra("FUEL_LEVEL", -1);
I hope that helps,
Steve.
