Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 71,350 PointsIt is not available for download anymore. I received this notice yesterday:
Here at Treehouse we pride ourselves on being the best when it comes to helping people learn new languages. Part of that responsibility is ensuring that how we teach is the most efficient, and in a way that our students will absorb and carry with them throughout their careers. We’ve discovered that the most effective way to teach someone how to code and to get the full benefits of Treehouse is through our web application. Because of that, we’ve decided to remove our mobile apps from Google Play and Apple App stores and discontinue maintenance. Starting this week it won’t be available for download and we won’t be fixing any bugs or making any improvements to the app. Nothing will change about how you discover and work through courses and challenges on our web app, and we hope that you continue to make progress in the way that we know to be successful. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to our Support team at: help@teamtreehouse.com. We appreciate your loyalty and want to thank you for being part of the Treehouse Community! Cheers, Treehouse

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 23,529 PointsI think removing learning functionality was a good idea but I think that app should be available to read a blog, see updates about new stuff and maybe episodes such as students show should be available to watch.

7,200 PointsI’m able to watch video’s in a browser. Not The full experience, not effective. Why do you make website reponsive? In stead, show a message That One should use website in order to learn as efficiënt as possible? Just to be consequent?

14,925 PointsYou teach people how to make Android and iOS apps. You should have a BAMF set of apps. Everything about that statement explaining their removal is valid b/c nobody practices and learns on a tiny screen. But why not remove the editor and quiz portions and make the app do other awesome stuff.
For Instance:
- Allow me to download the videos for offline viewing/listening
- (maybe I'm practicing offline in an editor on my laptop, or maybe re-listening to course videos is my favorite thing to do in my car)
- Provide flash-card-esq study material (maybe even a customized Anki Deck that is dynamically synced with my past and current track progress)
- Show news / updates and community responses.
I hope I shared some useful ideas. It really aggravated me to loose your (admittedly not great) app. I hope you get creative and offer some apps in the future. Frankly, I expect more from you. I love you. Please be as awesome as I think you are.

626 PointsWell that just blows because i originally got tree house so that i could watch these videos while i am traveling or on a break. I actually remember quite clearly in one of tree houses advertisments that this platform was perfect for people do just that.

3,840 PointsLame. Guess next month I'll switch to Lynda if they still have mobile.. not everyone has a laptop. Maybe the mobile app could be more MOBILE-FRIENDLY? Like multiple choice questions, etc. or sense or ask if on laptop... like have a second version for code. Or only certain classes available for mobile. Like on Lynda obviously I couldn't make a program while waiting on bus but I could listen or watch something on network security and write notes.. Something to think about.

1,681 PointsLike many others, I originally subscribed to Treehouse because I assumed that there would be a way to access these videos on mobile. Almost all learning platforms have some sort of app to learn on the go. Treehouse has amazing teachers and it's a shame that there is nothing like this for the platform.

3,538 PointsI agree with the learning aspect to be on a web application but for continuing practice, blogs, cheat sheets.. I'm not looking to score points for practice on a mobile app just to reinforce my learning and sometimes I don't have the time or option to utilize a full web application. What I want from treehouse in the future is a one stop shop for my continuing learning needs, for this a mobile app would be useful!
