getting an error

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')

You don't need

';'.join(available)

in

menu = "Our available flavours are: {}.".format(';'.join(available))

You are actually putting a ; between every character in the strings in the list. When I run your code on my system I get:

b;a;n;a;n;a; ;s;p;l;i;t;;;h;o;t; ;f;u;d;g;e;;;c;h;e;r;r;y;;;m;a;l;t;e;d;;;b;l;a;c;k; ;a;n;d; ;w;h;i;t;e.

Just do

menu = "Our available flavours are: {}.".format(sundaes)

and you're good to go. Here you're just replacing the {} with the entire list, so you see every flavor inside brackets.
